If you haven’t heard by now, I’m doing a new radio show.

It’s actually a revival of a program by the same name that we used to air on then-103.7 KVIL, and the premise is simple: people you and I know bring in their favorite songs, and we talk about why those songs matter to them so much. Last week, it was an amazingly inspirational and affirming hour with Oncor meteorologist Jen Myers.

And this week? An individual those of us here in Dallas-Fort Worth read almost every day for three decades.

Hello, longtime Dallas Morning News columnist Alan Peppard.

From his first assignment covering George H.W. Bush’s inauguration in 1988 to hanging with Larry Hagman and Chuck Norris, Alan has been around. So, what were the songs that shaped him through all this? Tune in Saturday night at 11, right after Jody Dean’s Saturday Night Special…on 98.7 KLUV.
